PayDues is now Packet Africa

From PayDues to Packet Africa: The Next Chapter of Our Story

Hi, family.

Five months ago, we launched something simple but powerful: PayDues.ng — a platform built to make paying faculty, departmental, and student association dues in Nigerian universities effortless. No more long queues, no more bank stress, no more “where is the receipt?” drama. Just a link, a few clicks, and peace of mind.

In those five months, over 6,500 students used PayDues to settle their dues. That number still humbles us every single time we say it. But something even more beautiful happened along the way.

While we were busy solving dues, faculties and associations started using the same tools for more than just payments. They ran digital voting for elections, hosted virtual and physical events (shoutout to all the dinner nights and award ceremonies we helped power), and organised their communities with zero hassle. Then something unexpected but incredible occurred — content creators began signing up too. They weren’t students or faculty; they were building their own audiences and needed the same simple payment infrastructure.

That was the moment we knew: PayDues had outgrown its name.

The name “PayDues” was perfect for the campus space — and we will always be proud of the impact we made there — but it was also quietly boxing us in. We realized we had built something bigger: a flexible payment and community platform that creators, small businesses, campuses, and everyday Nigerians could all use.

So we made a decision.

Today, we are excited to officially introduce Packet Africa — our new name, our new identity, and the next chapter of everything we’ve been building.

Packet Africa is still the same team, the same mission, the same obsession with making payments and community tools simple for Nigerians. But now the door is wide open. Whether you’re a student union, a faculty admin, a content creator dropping value on WhatsApp, YouTube, or Instagram, or any ecosystem player building something meaningful — this platform is now built for all of you.

We are relaunching and rebranding this month with fresh energy, new features, and an even bigger vision. Our goal? To build the best software solution that is used by students, creators, and communities, to pay, vote, crowdfund, sell digital products, and event tickets

To every student who trusted us with their dues, every faculty that used us for elections and events, every creator who saw possibility in what we built — thank you. You didn’t just use a product; you helped shape what it is becoming.

The old PayDues links will continue to work for now (we’re not leaving anyone behind), but the future lives at packetafrica.com.

Stay tuned. Big things are dropping very soon.

With gratitude and excitement,
